Chekesha Johnson is a passionate leader and advocate whose vision for community impact was deeply inspired by her grandmother, Queen Jenkins—a woman known for her lifelong commitment to helping children and uplifting those around her. In 2022, Chekesha founded The Queen’s Foundation in her honor, transforming that legacy of compassion into a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering underserved youth.
Since its founding, Chekesha has led the Foundation with purpose and discipline, focusing on supporting teen girls and young women—especially those facing barriers such as economic hardship and aging out of foster care. Under her leadership, the organization has grown rapidly, serving thousands of girls across Houston, Texas, through education, mentorship, and leadership development programs.
In 2024 and 2025, the Foundation reached a new level of impact, supporting over 1,000 students through its annual Back-to-School Drive and hundreds of families through its Holiday Toy Drive. Through flagship programs like Queen’s Academy, Chekesha has helped young women build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain financial literacy—creating a strong foundation for their future. Her commitment to long-term impact is reflected in the development of The Queen’s House, a transitional living program designed to support youth aging out of foster care. This initiative represents a critical step toward providing stability, independence, and a safe pathway into adulthood for those who need it most.
Chekesha Johnson’s leadership is rooted in a powerful belief: when young women are given the right support, they don’t just succeed—they transform their communities. Through her work, she continues to honor her grandmother’s legacy by creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and building a future where every girl has the chance to thrive.
In FY 2025, The Queen's Foundation advanced a key strategic priority —the development and licensing of The Queen's House, a Transitional Living Program (TLP) designed to support youth aging out of foster care.
